What does somatic mean?

The word ‘Somatic’ comes from the Greek word ‘sōma’ meaning body.

Somatic practice is a holistic approach to healing and self-awareness that reconnects the mind and body through body-based techniques. It helps release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and restore balance by working with movement, breath, and touch. The body holds onto unprocessed experiences, which can manifest as physical discomfort, emotional overwhelm, or patterns of disconnection. Through somatic practices, we create space for the body to process these experiences, releasing stress and trauma while fostering a sense of safety and ease.

    Empowering Growth Through Change

    I’m Kristin, a Somatic Alignment Facilitator and Human Garage Fascial Maneuvers Coach. After years of chronic pain from my time as a competitive gymnast, I discovered the profound connection between the body, emotions, and the nervous system. Through fascial maneuvers and somatic alignment, I was able to release years of stored trauma, find relief, and finally feel at home in my body. Now, I’m here to help you do the same. My work is about more than just easing pain—it’s about guiding you back to yourself, helping you feel lighter, freer, and deeply connected to who you truly are.
